My thoughts on this are the local commanders on the ground, and frontline troops have put their inputs in this briefing and if they are saying its improving, the surge has been successful in many aspects of its intentions than we must give them the benefit of the doubt period! The Democrats need to stop waiving the white flag all the damn time but maybe they heard OBL’s request we all convert to Islam and live happily ever after. Does Ted Kennedy know you can not drink alcohol under Islamic law, and Nancy Pelosi is getting fitted for her Burka right now.
I didn’t read all the articles from ‘moveon.org’ but sources such as the Washington Post, New York Times, The Australian and Newsweek are hardly what I would regard as “crap”.
As for the contention that violence has decreased in some Baghdad neighbourhoods where the surge has concentrated if I can paraphrase the funniest American comedian Bill Maher again: “Well daddy will stop beating mummy when there’s a police officer standing on the front porch”.
Not crap but extremely left I mean its no surprise they do not agree with the report and its no surprise they will stick with their pullout the troops at all costs during the election year. We will discuss saturday night over some brewskies!
‘The Australian’ extremely left? Hmmm. Do you know who its owner is? That ultra-liberal greenie pinko communist Rupert Murdoch. And NewsweeK? A quality centrist magazine although it’s editor Fareed Zacharia has and continues to support all of Bush’s foreign policy. Not exactly the ‘GreenLeft’.
The ‘New York Times’ and ‘Washington Post’ are slightly to the left of centre but hardly extremely left.
